5 out of 5 stars I ate here with my Mom after our Mother's Day trip to the Boardwalk last year (in September, when Boardwalk crowds are sane and ride lines are short). The food was excellent, and I really appreciated having a relaxed environment with some fancy food choices. My Mom was impressed. greg

4.5 out of 5 stars My boyfriend and I visited Cafe La Vie on a recent trip to Santa Cruz. We were extremely impressed with the presentation and taste of the dishes we got: soft tacos and crunchy roll. The server was attentive and sweet, and she recommended a wonderful dessert. She was very helpful about identifying which dishes were vegan. Since we are new to raw food, she explained the terms we didn't understand. sharkycharming

1.5 out of 5 stars I've been to Cafe La Vie about five times, but yesterday was the last. The food is good, if a bit pricey, but the service is horrible. Not for the first time, we endured long waits to order and to get our food. My glass of wine was forgotten and then delivered in a dirty glass. And the menu has changed for the worse, with some tasty sandwiches gone and no more identification of what's vegan. wavedance

2 out of 5 stars I had a good experience at La Vie the month they opened (around 8/05) but when I went recently, I had a very bad time there. The menu had changed completely, as they are no longer all vegan. The vegan items were not clearly marked, so we had to continuously ask the waitress questions and she didn't know the answers. Then they forgot half of our order. Food tasted good though. Desiree

4.5 out of 5 stars I'm neither vegan nor vege, but I love good food, and Cafe La Vie has it. I've eaten here twice - the first time was awhile ago, the second time last night, where I had their 100% raw blueberry (vegan) "cheesecake" and 90% raw pumpkin pie. Both = delicious. Cheesecake = grainy texture, lush blueberry flavor, delightful. Pumpkin pie = smooth, creamy + tasty crust. Juice selection is wonderful. fyrefoxz
