as we understand it, the menu is vegan; however, bee pollen can be added to smoothies. \u00a0Seed + Salt also uses honey in some of their desserts; what&#8217;s with &#8220;vegan&#8221; restaurants\u00a0using\u00a0products from bees?\n<ul>\n<li>Please, let&#8217;s all be bee friends and not exploit or use\u00a0the life&#8217;s work of this industrious little creature. \u00a0(Their lifespan is short, like 6-7 weeks, and according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honey.com\/newsroom\/press-kits\/honey-trivia\">National Honey Board<\/a>,\u00a0it takes them that entire time to produce 1\/12 of a<em> teaspoon<\/em> of honey. ) \u00a0Lots of great alternatives to honey, and one of the easiest items to replace in your pantry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>OPENING SOON<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bayareaveg.org\/ug\/display.htm?id=1145\">Veggie Grill<\/a> in Campbell (although,\u00a0for USPS mail purposes\u00a0it&#8217;s in San Jose). \u00a0The official grand opening for their 28th location is <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Thursday, March 19th<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0You know the drill. \u00a0First 50 people in line when they open will each receive a $50 gift card. \u00a0This is not a test. \u00a0It&#8217;s the real deal &#8211; got any at yours?<\/li>\n<li>Their vegan chocolate midnight cake has been elusive. \u00a0It was spotted in Corte Madera at end of February (for $10, previously $9), but haven&#8217;t heard of any other sightings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Feeling really hungry? Take a trip to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bayareaveg.org\/ug\/display.htm?id=613\">Gaia&#8217;s Garden<\/a>. This vegetarian restaurant in Santa Rosa offers a buffet, which includes a hot bar, salad bar, homemade bread, and vegan pudding. If you&#8217;re not particularly hungry, you can opt for the &#8220;blue plate special&#8221; (fill one 9.5&#8243; platter) as well as a salad only or soup only option. On our visit, all of the entrees were vegan except for the Halvah and one of the salad dressings. All the food was clearly marked, and delicious.
