Had lunch here. Great decor/ambience. Awesome food, seasoned to perfection. Between my husband and I, we had the spicy potatoes, brocolli and tofu, gado gado, eggplant with soy chunks, columbo something. Everything was excellent. Huge portions for the price ($7.50 for 4 items + white or brown rice) |

I've had bad experiences at Malabar since it moved. They were out of my fav dish (Tempeh Goreng) once and they made the peanut sauce 4x as spicy as usual another time. I still love the food (usually). Try the Raw Chocolate drink, but ask for no honey! It's divine. I went on "set menu Sunday" and it was weird, but good. However, the check came blank. We were told to "pay what we think is fair." |

Food is delicious, and very reasonable for the quality. Beautiful decor. Much larger & nicer space than previous location. Try the tempeh gorang -- double yum! Service is a bit slow (as usual), otherwise I'd give them a 5-stars. One of my favorite places to eat in the Bay Area. |

I've only had dinner there so far, but did try the sample plate (SriLankan Plate.) New place is very nice. Looks like a total remodel. Big step up from the old locations. I'd give them a 5 for the food, and 2.5 for service. Place is always busy, but they refuse to get enough good staff in to handle everything and the owner always seems in a bad mood or short with the clients. Food sometimes arrives cold due to overloaded staff. If they could figure out service this place would be a solid 5 because of the food. |
