July 2015 News

Hi {FIRST_NAME|Veg Friend,}

This month's vegan food party is in Napa, Saturday, the 27th at 5 pm, hosted by Tonia & Steve (details/RSVP).  Napa County is unique in the Bay Area for its lack of even a single vegetarian restaurant. Terrible, huh!

Want to help us change that? Now that the seasonal Farmer's Markets have started, it's a great opportunity to raise awareness of how animals are treated on farms, and promote veganism. Having a presence allows us to connect with others who are veg, or simply veg-curious. We know from our efforts and conversations in Vallejo that we are making a difference! See photos from our June 6th and June 20th Vallejo Farmer's Market outreach. Meanwhile, check out Tonia's Napa Valley Vegan blog; she's hard at work eating her way around the Napa Valley.

Truth or Drought Lawn Sign

Truth or Drought lawn single-sided lawn sign - $14 each.

We know the real culprit for water usage is animal agriculture, which uses at whopping 47% of California water compared to 4% for home use. Now you can tell your neighbors with a "Save Water, Eat Plants" lawn signs. You can order them directly for $27, or save by joining us in a group order for $14. Please contact me to reserve your sign. Pickup will be in American Canyon or at the Vallejo Bookstore in downtown Vallejo.

If you are a veg business owner, or know of a veg-owned business, please let me know. We would like to promote veg-networking by including them in our online guide. Your are encouraged to add new veg businesses directly, or email me with the details.

Our newest addition to the guide is Fox & Fawn Bakehouse in Benicia; they create vegan cupcakes, pies, and cakes using organic, fair trade certified ingredients. Here's an interview from Benicia Magazine.

Is your favorite place to dine vegan missing from our guide? If so, please feel free to add them - sharing information helps to create a stronger vegan community.

For the animals,
