|$600 - Yee Haaw! Room for rent in co-op house! (94301)
We are two guys and two gals looking for a fifth roommate to hang out with us in our friendly eco-aware semi-hippie co-op. Our beautiful house, which we rent, has been a co-op staple in Palo Alto for several decades. Here are some bullets:
-close to downtown Palo Alto, Stanford Campus
-shared vegetarian meals 2-3 times per week
-occasional potluck or other gathering/party
-garden in front of house: veggies, herbs, berries, native plants, composting
-chronic tea drinking/discussions about random topics
-shared staple foods, chores, utilities
-mellow, friendly housemates, 21-37 yrs old, 3 grad students, one grad student/teacher, one permaculture designer
-large, shared courtyard
-available in beginning of March
-spacious, with good natural lighting
-DSL access (shared bill)
We are looking for:
-clean, but not obsessively so
-willingness/eagerness to be part of our community, sharing in cooking, as well as cleaning rotation
If you're interested please give me (William) an email with some info about yourself and any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org, or call at: 650-380-7030
And now for the juiciest part ... the BIOS!!!:
Jo grew up tap dancing in LA. She's been vegetarian since she was 3, before she knew there was a word for ' veg-e-ta-rian .' She came to Stanford, studied History, then picked up a few grants to run away to Europe for most of 2007. She is currently very happy to be back running around campus, getting her MA in Interdisciplinary Humanities. She concocts by impulse with organic ingredients when it comes to both food and writing. She listens to NPR and likes making film/photo.
Then there is William. William designs organic gardens for a living and has numerous interests outside of that. You are sure to have great conversations with him, whether you are interested in the environment and sustainability, psychology, archeology, or alternative medicine. He takes care of the house's garden as well. If you are good to him, he might even let you try some of the ginger beer he's brewed.
Emily hails from none other than Evanston, Illinois. After college and a couple of years living in Mexico/Honduras, she decided to chill out in the bay area for some time. Besides teaching high school and saying 'Whoa, dude' at quasi random moments, she is a full time MA student in Comparative Literature at San Francisco State. Oh, and she's a word sleuth as well.
Joe left behind his meat-and-potatoes Indiana childhood when he moved to the bay area eight years ago. After living in the east bay and San Francisco, and then a brief journey with the Cyclown Circus across Europe, he's now in Palo Alto doing graduate work in physics. When not shooting lasers at atoms, he can be found unicycling in the alley, drawing curious creatures on his chalkboard, and livening up the neighborhood with the sounds of his bike radio as he rolls by.
