Beyond Whole Foods and other grocery stores that sell the limited quantiy of riblets, chicken patties, etc., where is there a store that sells fake fish, bacon, ham, duck, eel, etc. (You know, the whole May wah, www.vegieworld.com-type line of products)?
The store locator on this web site lists a "Lucky Store" in Chinatown, but that is now a gift store. I've lived in several cities and always had luck finding an Asian grocery store that carried a huge (and affordable) assortment of fake meat products, but can't seem to find one here in San Fran. since I moved here.
Can anyone help? I think this site also lists a store in Oakland, but do i have to go to Oakland, really?
thanks!!! |

Ranch 99 (a chain) usually sells the faux meats. I know there is one in Daly City, not sure about other locations.
I have seen Nancy (who owns Golden Era) shopping at the grocery store in Oakland (Layonna), which is listed in the Ultimate Guide (http://bayareaveg.org/ug) |
