I am new to these forums, I hope you all don't mind me posting something I thought was important.
I recently saw a Jack in the Box commercial on television that outraged me enough to send them a letter and call them to complain.
In the commercial Jack's son is on stage at a school performance and announces that he wants to be a vegetarian when he grows up, the whole crowd gasps and Jack is horrified and shamed until the boy "redeems" himself by clarifying that he meant to say veterinarian.
I understand that Jack in the Box does not exactly cater to the vegetarian population, but to alienate us in such a way was very insulting to me.
I also realize you can't complain about every little slur against vegetarians or vegans, but for some reason this one just got under my skin and I felt like doing something rather than just being annoyed. Now when I see the commercial at least I feel better knowing I put in my two cents!
If anyone wants to contact them, the info is below.

Thanks for posting this! I watch a lot of TV and will look for this ad (usually TIVO past the commercials).
I guess Jack in the Box realizes it's never gonna have the veggie vote so they mght as well cater to their meat-eating audience at our expense. sigh.
There's monthly letter writing parties in Berkeley and SF and I'll alert the hosts about this. If you're local, think about joining us, always good to have another voice for the animals.

Thanks Tammy!
I'm up in the North Bay but I'd love to join one of the letter writing sessions sometime.
Keep up the good work! |

Well, I guess I should follow up and say that I finally saw the commercial (can't remember where, I think I found it on you tube) and I thought it was kinda funny, actually.
Reminded me of this story I heard ... A friend of mine (vegan) was introduced to a young child by her vegetarian godfather. He was introduced as being a vegetarian. And the child innocently asks "Is that someone who cares for animals?" And, while she was obviously thinking of a veterinarian, vegetarians care for animals too. |

Well, I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants. _________________ "Well you have to admit, the perfect way to end

| I saw a bumpersticker on a truck once. It said something like "I love animals, they taste good". |
