Hi, all...I'm new to the game. I was off meat for about 3 weeks after reading Slaughterhouse, but that didn't last. Most recently, I've been off meet for just over a month and it's going much better this time. I was eating fish until about 2 weeks ago and I've since managed to cut out "anything with a face". I won't touch the egg and dairy hurdle, yet, although I aspire too.
Anywho...I have a spouse who will waver. One day, he's supportive of the decision, offereing to eat more pasta and grains for dinner, for example. But the next, he is having a really hard time with it, almost to the point of mocking me. I still cook meat and poultry for him so his lifestyle hasn't changed much. Luckily, these days, darn near any restaurant we go to will cater my new needs, but I'm just not sure if there are any magic tricks to getting loved ones to understand. Most of my friends aren't keen on the change, but that doesn't effect my day to day life like having an unsupportive spouse.
Anyone with any success getting a husband or wife to understand the change better? I'm doing it for moral reasons (which is why I also hope to cut out dairy soon) rather than health reasons. THANKS! _________________ "Entrepreneurship is the last refuge of the trouble making individual."
