Hi,
After years of being "that weird veggie" in all of my groups of friends, I'm looking to hang out with other people like me! I want to be able to share my concerns about animal rights issues and eat lunch without being teased. I plan to attend events hosted by Bay Area Vegetarians. Any other suggestions for how I can meet like-minded people? Any volunteer groups, for example?

Hi Lauren!
Expanding your circle of friends to include others who share your concern for animals and taste for veg*n foods is a great idea!
There are many veg/AR organizations throughout the Bay Area and in my opinion Bay Area Vegetarians is the best
Which part of the Bay Area do you live? We really need volunteers at our KFC protests and Letter Writing parties. Here is the schedule of where they happen -

Additionally, depending on your skills/interests, we are always looking for folks to organize activities for the group, from social events (like a dinner) to an advocacy event (like Street TV, or help us set-up/takedown for an educational presentation, etc)
Check out the current event calendar, and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event soon
