| Frisee Restaurant | The soup was delicious, the pumpkin ravioli wholesome and pleasant, but overpriced for what it was. The tofu scramble brunch was also pleasant (but not special) and fairly priced. Decor is trendy and overdone, but service is friendly. The Castro is surprisingly not vegan- or organic-friendly, so I encourage people to support them so they will further develop and promote their vegan menu. | 2008-02-06 | | Prism Cafe | Went 2/10/07-couldn't order most food because the cook wasn't there, and the employee was rude, so we left. Maybe he was having a bad day, but I won't try it again! | 2007-02-11 | | Parkway Speakeasy Theater | I had a slice of vegan pizza & side salad, it was excellent. Vegan option clearly labelled. The "cheese" was more like a sauce, but was very nice. Casual, alternative atmosphere. The waitress was spacy and not very attentive, but pleasant. The men's bathroom was disgusting, it hadn't been cleaned for ages! | 2007-02-11 | | Enjoy Vegetarian | The waitress insisted everything was vegan, even when I asked about egg in the chow mein noodles. I brought 2 friends, one learning about veganism, the other non-veg. We all really enjoyed everything we ordered. Service was extremely friendly and fast (though they weren't very busy). Very clean, including the bathroom (unlike Shangri-la), but too bright. I can't wait to return! | 2006-11-11 | | Dosa | Caution - after ordering the Channa Bhatura twice before and being told it was vegan, the last time the waitress came back to tell me the regular bread has yogurt and offered an alternative bread. The menu should indicate the vegan items. Otherwise, it's good, and it's nice to have South Indian food. I go at opening time or get takeout because it's very crowded & noisy. | 2006-11-11 | |
