If you want to make carpools contact me so I can arrange.=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0ABadarikashrama is a Hindu temple that mostly serves Indian immigrants. Head of the temple, Swami Omkarananda, welcomes people who don't have a family gathering to spend their holiday at his place. =0D=0A=0D=0AI've been here many times for Thanksgiving and/or Xmas. The musicians are high quality. The food is made by members of the temple, there's both lacto-veg & vegan items. Definitely you can find enough vegan food here to have a meal. Raw food it's not, it's traditional Indian food. Some items are spicy, but not overwhelming.=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0AIt's a relaxed scene, they don't try to convert you or recruit you. They don't ask for money, there's a donation box if you want to give something. On the walls of the shrine room are pictures of Buddha, Guru Nanak (founder of Sikh reiigion), Jesus as well as Hindu sages. No picture of Mahavir yet (vegetarian founder of Jain religion), if one of the BAVeg Jains attends, bring a picture, maybe Swami Omkarananda will add it to their wall. The shrine room has both chair seating and floor seating on carpet, but they don't have floor cushions.=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0AConcert starts about 3pm, afterwards the Swami gives a brief talk, a few prayers, then dinner probably about 5pm.=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0ABe Green: bring your own eating utensil and teacup, don't use the plastic throwaways.
