Walk for Farm Animals in SF – Join our Team!

Many animals raised for food cannot walk. Chickens who lay eggs are crammed in cages so small, with other chickens, that they don’t have space to lift their wings, much less walk. Pigs and veal calves confined in narrow pens.

Let’s walk for those who can’t.

Please join Bay Area Vegetarians and co-founder Tammy Lee in a 3 mile walk for farm animals on Sat, 10/13 in San Francisco. The walk route starts at the Ferry Building and continues along the Embarcadero to Fisherman’s Wharf, and then returns. Registration starts at 10 am, the walk starts at 11 am.

Please JOIN our team, “Animals are Friends, not Food” in the San Francisco walkathon.

All funds raised at walks throughout the country go directly to Farm Sanctuary.

Farm Sanctuary is a national, non-profit animal protection organization. Each year they rescue, rehabilitate and provide lifelong care for hundreds of animals rescued from factory farms, stockyards and slaughterhouses. In addition to operating the shelters in Northern California and New York, they work to gain legal protection for animals used in food production and to raise public awareness about factory farm cruelty and cruelty-free alternatives.

I will unfortunately be out of town the day of the walk but would have joined you otherwise. What a lovely event and I’m sorry we have to even have these events. Why doesn’t everyone want to treat animals fairly?

  2. Pooja [Visitor] says:

Will try my level best to make it. Hopefully it doesnt rain.
